Sarah + Alex: Engagement

We've known Sarah and her family for a long time. During her college years, Cindy spent two summers as a nanny for Sarah and her younger sister Megan. Well, those little girls are all grown up, Sarah is getting married to Alex this September, and I'm honored to be their wedding photographer!

Sarah and Alex recently flew up to Chicago for the weekend. I got to spend an afternoon with them to reconnect, see some Chicago sights, and shoot a great engagement session together. Can't wait until September!

Annie and Stephen Engagement

Stephen and Annie are so in love and we're very excited about their recent engagement. We've known Annie for several years now and she even lived with us for a while, so it's really special to be involved with the most exciting parts of life with a dear friend. We known both Stephen and Annie from church while they've attended Wheaton College and can imagine so many ways they will be better together, as one. Click through for the full gallery...

Brielle and Tyler Engagement

I've always believed that the best way to capture emotion in a photo was through the eyes of your subject, but in this engagement session I was reminded that a laughing smile or a tender touch can be a close second. I've known Tyler since he was about six years old and I really enjoyed my morning with him and his sweet bride-to-be, Brielle. We explored some nooks and crannies of Brielle's home town and I'm so looking forward to shooting their wedding this summer!

Hannah and Drew Engagement

This engagement session has been a long time coming, but I finally got out with our friends Drew and Hannah this weekend for a great shoot. It was a bit early and a bit chilly for a Saturday morning, but the weather worked out perfectly and we really enjoyed our time in the park. Drew is an amazing bike builder and works in a local bike shop, so the bikes you'll see in the gallery aren't just props. They're custom-built cruisers with some of the sweetest details and the perfect attitude. The three of us rode over together and captured the joy of their engagement (and their sweet rides).

Asharae and Tim Engagement

Tim and Asharae have become dear friends over the last year. Asharae shot my first wedding with me last fall and I'm looking forward to the privilege of shooting their wedding this summer. It was a crisp, cold day so we started out at a local coffee shop before we headed out into the snow.

They're so full of joy and laughter that it makes them so easy to shoot. We had a great time this afternoon and it shows in the photos. Click the image below for the full gallery.

Janlee and Zach Engagement

If I could quit my day job...I'd be a photographer. I did an engagement shoot last night for our house guest, Janlee, and her fiancé, Zach, and I had a blast. They have both become wonderful friends to our family and we're sad to think Janlee is going to move out in a few weeks. Good news for her is that she'll be married to a great guy.

We're grateful to be invited to their wedding and our whole family is looking forward to the event. I've been observing and practicing because I'm also going to shoot their wedding along with another photographer. Exciting and sobering. Gulp!

Here's more of Zach and Janlee.
