A Sunday Walk

After an afternoon of hosting friends in our home, Adam took Josh and Emily on a walk outside. They loved being out on one of our first warm days of the month! Enjoy the sweet pictures of our youngest two, taken by our resident photographer!

Sweet and serious Emily. Each month her personality and words come out even more and we are so enjoying her!

Brielle and Tyler Engagement

I've always believed that the best way to capture emotion in a photo was through the eyes of your subject, but in this engagement session I was reminded that a laughing smile or a tender touch can be a close second. I've known Tyler since he was about six years old and I really enjoyed my morning with him and his sweet bride-to-be, Brielle. We explored some nooks and crannies of Brielle's home town and I'm so looking forward to shooting their wedding this summer!

Cousin Penny

We recently had the joy of reconnecting with Adam's cousin, Penny Quinn. She is the oldest daughter of Adam's Uncle Joe. It has been many years since we've seen her, but she was her same joyful and vibrant self. She hadn't met any of our kids and she so warmly loved on them and they on her. It was a fun evening with her in our home, as you will see by the photos!

The girls loved cuddling with Penny.

The boys liked "measuring" themselves against Penny.

Emily loved laughing with Penny.....

....and making Penny laugh!

Thanks for visiting us, Penny!

Chicago Weekend

A few weeks ago, our good friends Jen and Ryan took on the brave challenge of watching our kids for a whole 24 hours so Cindy and I could enjoy a night in Chicago. We've lived here almost 15 years and have never done a "night in the city," so this was a fun treat for us.

We stayed at the amazing Dana Hotel and Spa and totally dug the modern digs. We had a corner room with floor-to-ceiling windows which afforded sweet views of the city.

We had a nice meal at Roy's Restaurant where Cindy was daring enough to try some raw sushi (she liked it, but not as much as I did).

After dinner we had the most overpriced drinks combined with the most fantastic views from the top of the John Hancock Building.

The next morning we enjoyed a run in the snow along Lake Michigan before we had to head back home. What a great night out and huge thanks to our friends Jen and Ryan for making it possible!
