Lift Off!

Space shuttle Discovery launched into space Saturday night around 7:45 pm....and Andrew, Katie and Josh were able to watch it happen! Andrew has had an interest in space and space shuttles lately so this was especially fun for him. We were just about to bathe Andrew and Katie when Adam brought up his laptop and said Discovery was about to launch. So we tabled bath time and enjoyed watching the big event take place. Some cute conversation took place immediately after lift off:
Katie: "Can we see it land?"
Adam: "No, not yet! But we'll try to see it when it does."
Andrew: "Will there be lots of fire when it lands too?"
Adam: "No, we hope not!"
Ah, the innocence of children! Enjoy the following photos and their precious, excited faces.

Andrew and Katie (and Josh!), I am so glad you got to see the shuttle lift off! That is one of my favorite things to watch! Wasn't it exciting? I hope you get to see the landing, too!

Love, Mrs. Egan

Awesome--great timing, guys! We missed it ourselves. Great pictures (of course)!
