A Fun Trip to the Fire Station

We visited the Wheaton Fire Station's Open House this afternoon. The kids enjoyed seeing the fire engines, receiving fireman hats and taking a ride on a fire engine. Below you'll see pictures of all of us from our time there!

Joshua and rice cereal

We started feeding Josh rice cereal last week! He is doing well with it so far, and is actually getting more in his belly than on his bib. Josh enjoys sitting at the table with us and having his dinner or lunch too! You can guess who else likes to watch him eat as well as try to feed him...Andrew and Katie! They continue to be my faithful helpers.

One more Arboretum picture

This picture is also from our day at the Arboretum last weekend. Before we left, the kids watched "Hansel and Gretel" acted out. Interestingly, one of the actors was a guy we went to high school with! The kids enjoyed the show.

Saturday at the Morton Arboretum

We spent part of last Saturday at our nearby Morton Arboretum. It is a great place to go with the kids. We bought a membership this year and have enjoyed going often. They have a fun Children's Garden where the kids can play, climb and explore God's creation of flowers, trees, plants and water. There were many fall activities going on that day and the kids liked making a few crafts and looking at decorated scarecrows. The weather was beautiful and we had a great day together.

Vacation shots, Part 3

Adam took so many great pictures in Estes Park that we thought we'd share just a few more with you all. We have such fond memories from the trip and the kids are still talking about "going to the mountains".


This picture of the deer was taken just outside our condo. He was standing not far from our van! We found the animals there to be quite comfortable with people.


Here you can see the Aspens starting to change to golden yellow. It was striking to see a patch of Aspens amidst the evergreens.

Here are a few more pictures from our trip to Estes Park. A highlight for the kids was seeing elk--they were quite prevalent, both in town and in the National Park.

Our vacation to Estes Park, Colorado

So we are finally using our blog site! Our plan is for Adam, the photographer, and Cindy, the writer to work together to keep you updated on the Pratt family. Please visit us often!

We recently traveled to Colorado. Adam registered to run the Boulder Marathon, and we decided to make it a family vacation. Adam had a good race, and then we were able to play in the mountains for a few days after the race. We did a 4-mile hike with the kids--they were troopers!--as well as some nice drives in the Rocky Mountain National Park. We spoiled the kids with dessert every night, and overall relaxed and had a good time together as a family. We'd love to go back some day! The pictures are from our hike.
